We snapped these pictures on our staycation last weekend and I am so glad we did!

The light was perfect, the air was crisp. The day was off to a fantastic start with warm drinks, a leisurely brunch with friends at Bruges, and some post Waffle-monster window shopping. (Thanks, Grandma!) This outfit was perfect for the occasion. Equal parts comfortable and stylish, I feel like this is a balance I see more and more people seek to strike, even on the forefront of fashion. I mean, hello, return of the Birkenstock!

Hands down this striped shirt is my favorite spring purchase, and with an ear turned to the blogosphere I hear that I’m not alone. This is Beth of Seersucker and Saddles nailing her look, and Molly of A Piece of Toast singing her praises to this wardrobe rock star. The thing that gives this outfit some extra OOMPH are the elevated basics. A stripe shirt, a sweatshirt, a pair of sneakers– these items are nothing new. But they each have their own special edge.

The striped shirt is endless, no really, that’s the name of the shirt! Its eye-catching length juxtaposed with the cropped sweatshirt are layered perfection. The sweatshirt itself is made of a more substantial cotton that holds its shape so nicely giving sweatshirt pulled-together look and feel rather than a frumpy pajama vibe. Above all, the whole affair is COMFORTABLE, taking me from downtown brunch, to a backyard game of 500 with my boys– major WIN!

Make it a good one!

X, Megan
