Come the end of winter, what all of us need is to stand in the sunshine just soaking it in. More Vitamin D, please!!!
I wore this outfit to my son’s “Olympic Winter Games” on Wednesday, and as we are headed out skiing again this weekend I thought it would be appropriate to post the entire outfit. Chalk this one up to rugged. I love the black and cream combo. The sun was brighter than bright, but it was still in the 30s when we arrived at Soldier Hollow so I’m glad I brought my humongo coat. Friends, that puppy has saved my life on more than one occasion.
Okay, so that is an exaggeration, but at my kindergartener’s school parents park at an upper lot and then walk their progeny over the river and through the woods and there have been days that hit -11. That’ll freeze your nose hairs together for sure! This coat really was a lifesaver with its fleecy lining and long length. LOVE!
Our Olympic day was filled with nordic skiing relays, a biathlon for the older kids, and even an obstacle course for our little champions! My little guy confided in me that he was out to win the night before his big day. I think it didn’t matter much once things got rolling. Each class was asked to choose a country to represent, and my son’s class chose Scotland. It was pretty epic to stand at the school and see them ski down from the lodge.
We’re talking a legitimate opening ceremony with flags from Ireland, France, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Chile, USA and of course the northlands Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the like. Every little munchkin was on skis! Quite a display! It was so good to meet and mingle with old friends and new. We simply had a WONDERFUL time enjoying the festivities!
May your Saturday be all you want and more!
