Sometimes I’m on my gift giving A game. You know, present at the ready, wrapped neatly and card written. But more often than not I’m that lady racing around Target, the Mall, the Dollar Store for crying out loud! Last minute, searching for the perfect gift for my husband. That’s my reality.

The reality: we live in a world where last minute gifts CAN and DO happen. Yes, it’s Wednesday, friends, and you can still make it happen! In fact, if you’re looking at the Specialized Venge for your baby daddy, I happen to know a SWEET BIKE SHOP you can order it from!!! 😉

Fringe

I cannot stop singing James Taylor’s “Country Road” as I look at these outfit photos. “Take to the highway won’t you lend me your name? Your way and my way seem to be one and the same.”

“I guess my feet know where they want me to go. Walking on a country road.” I tried to listen to the song as I typed up the post, but I just kept singing instead of typing, so I’ll have to cue it up on my iPhone this morning.

My penchant for sweaters doesn’t end in the summer months. This is a new favorite from Madewell (also available here), and it has definitely been on repeat in this summer’s closet lineup. Would you ever entertain the fringe-y trend? I’ve shopped this shirt and several similar options below.

Maxi Moment

When it comes to maxi dresses I have to admit that I have had a hard time finding any that I really love.

They are either too short or too long, too billowy or too skin tight. I did borrow a black formal maxi dress from my sister when we sang a duet for an event YEARS ago. But none have caught my eye since.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich Heaven

About last night… I think I found my summer thing. You know, the “thing”. That little bit of goodness that you just want to keep happening over and over and over again. That little treat at the end of the rainbow, if you will.

This summer my thing is going to be homemade Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches. Yes. Hands down this is my favorite treat-of-the-moment! Picture a fresh chocolate chip cookie you pulled hot out of the oven. Now picture two of them, perfectly squished around a ball of your favorite vanilla ice cream.

Wha?!? I’m telling you. There’s not much better out there!!! I recommend using THIS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE recipe, and this ice cream. Date Night Drives

Sometimes when we’re out for a date, or headed to an activity we try to take the scenic route. It feels slightly victorian, like heading out on a Sunday drive (we love those, too). But I never tire of the endless glory of the views around these parts, so I’m sure we’ll keep after these mountain excursions.

This top is quickly becoming a summer favorite. I’ve paired it with shorts and skirts, and now this pair of cropped high rise jeans and heels for our date night. This nod to the 70s bohemian style has really been a wonderful resurgence in fashion in my opinion. Lace details, more forgiving forms and fabrics, along with bell sleeves and bell bottoms. I’m a fan!
